Who makes the best aluminium sliding patio doors? It’s one of the most common questions we receive.
The answer depends on what you mean by “best”. Some sliding doors focus on value for money. Others are designed around minimal sightlines, architectural styling, engineering excellence, luxury specifications or commercial performance.
After many years reviewing sliding doors and visiting manufacturers, systems companies, showrooms and installations throughout the UK and Europe, we believe there is no single best sliding door for every project.
Instead, certain products stand out in specific categories.
This guide explains which we consider to be the best aluminium sliding patio doors in 2026 and why.
Best Sliding Doors at a Glance

What About Other Sliding Door Brands?
There are now around forty sliding door brands available in the UK. Some are designed by major systems companies. Others are exclusive products developed by individual manufacturers. Many are rebadged versions of existing systems sold under different names.
It would be impossible to include every sliding door in a single guide, particularly when many products share the same aluminium system, hardware and core engineering.
The products featured in this article are the ones we believe stand out in their respective categories. That does not automatically mean a brand not listed here is inferior.
If you have been quoted for a sliding door not mentioned in this guide, get in touch. We can usually tell you who designed it, whether it is based on an existing system, how it compares with competing products and whether there are alternatives worth considering.
Our advice is impartial, independent and based on more than three decades in the door and window industry.
How the Door and Window Experts Website Reviews Sliding Doors
We have worked in the door and window industry since 1989 and regularly visit manufacturers, systems companies, fabricators and installers throughout the UK and Europe. We review products in showrooms, study technical documentation and gather feedback from the companies that design, manufacture, install and support sliding doors.
This gives us a practical understanding of how products differ in the real world, beyond marketing claims and brochure specifications.
Evaluating Quality When Choosing Sliding Doors
Sliding doors vary enormously in design, engineering, price and capability.
Unlike bifold doors, where products are often broadly similar, sliding doors can be designed for completely different applications. Some are intended for standard residential extensions. Others are designed for extreme glass weights, exposed coastal locations or architect-led projects with very specific design requirements.
Homeowners often focus heavily on sightlines. Whilst sightlines are important, they are only one part of the picture. Wind loading, structural calculations, exposure category, glass specification, weather performance and long-term servicing are equally important.
For this reason, we do not recommend choosing a sliding door solely on the thickness of its interlock. However, the sliding action is often your best indicator of one of the best aluminium sliding patio doors. The easier and smoother it glides, the better the hardware and overall door design.
If your primary objective is finding the slimmest sliding door available, read our separate guide to the slimmest sliding doors in the UK.
Best Sliding Door for Most Homeowners
Choosing the best sliding door for most homeowners is not about finding the most expensive product or the most extreme architectural system.
It is about finding a door that combines styling, performance, reliability, security testing and accreditation, availability and value for money. And most homeowners needing good value, well-made sliding doors are either replacing dated doors or need them for a new extension. They don’t need the largest sizes or the most complex hidden frame fixing.
For 2026, our choice is the Glideline Aspect.
Glideline Aspect
The Glideline Aspect impresses in that it delivers exceptionally slim sightlines at the central mullion/interlock of just 15mm, whilst remaining a practical and accessible product for most architectural projects.
Glideline Aspect is not positioned as a specialist architectural system requiring complex structural detailing or six-figure glazing budgets. Even better, it does away with the bonded construction that is essential in most slimline sliding doors.
For most homeowners looking for a modern aluminium sliding door in 2026, this is currently our recommendation.
Alumil M450
Also very similar to the Glideline Aspect is the Alumil M450. This has been sold by Express Bifolds for many years and is now generally available in the market.
The big advantages of the Alumil M450 are again it is a beaded sliding door without needing bonded glass and it has a 25mm interlock like the ultra premium sliding doors.
Smart Systems Visoglide
Visoglide by Smart Systems has been around for years. Widely used, tried and tested and it was becoming dated. Today’s version offers a 20mm interlock with the familiar design Visoglide is well-known for. It’s not the most attractive door on the market in our view. However, it comes from the UK’s biggest system company, it’s well-known. Peace of mind comes long after it’s guarantee expires in that most competent glaziers can service the door or change the glass if needed. It’s still a great door for most homeowners. Read our Visoglide Review.
Premium Sliding Doors
There are projects where budget is not the primary consideration. Choosing the right sliding door for the project is. The best premium sliding doors differ because they are engineered, manufactured and supported differently from mainstream products.
Premium sliding doors are not simply standard systems with a higher price tag. They typically offer larger panel sizes, more sophisticated engineering, better hardware, improved detailing and a higher degree of customisation. In many cases, the company that designs the product is also heavily involved in manufacturing, testing and ongoing support.
Skyglaze Sliding Doors
Skyglaze has quietly established itself as one of the most impressive sliding door specialists in the UK with substantial Grand Designs style project completed here and abroad
Whilst the brand may not have the consumer recognition of Origin or Schüco, the products themselves compete comfortably with some of the most respected sliding doors currently available.
Skyglaze also stands out for its ability to support complex projects, providing structural calculations, bespoke solutions and project-specific expertise as part of its standard approach.
LuxView is a premium sliding door system that combines slim sightlines, large glass sizes and high quality manufacturing with a level of engineering and project support that sets it apart from many competitors. Rather than relying solely on system companies, Skyglaze invests in developing its own profiles and product improvements, demonstrating a commitment to innovation and long term product development. The result is a high end sliding door aimed at homeowners, architects and developers who want exceptional design and performance without the cost of some ultra-premium architectural systems.
Schüco Panorama Design
Schüco currently offers several panoramic sliding door systems, each aimed at a slightly different part of the market.
The ASE 67 PD (Panorama Design) is one of the most architecturally focused. Designed around minimal visible aluminium, it offers exceptionally slim sightlines and allows much of the outer frame to be concealed within the building structure. The result is a sliding door where the glass becomes the dominant visual feature rather than the frame itself.
The ASE 51 PD which we have reviewed already is perhaps the most versatile of the Schüco panoramic systems. It combines slim sightlines with excellent thermal performance and a wide range of configuration options. For many homeowners and architects, it strikes the best balance between aesthetics, performance and practicality.
For larger and more demanding projects, the ASS 77 PD remains an impressive solution. Designed to accommodate very large glass panels and floor-to-ceiling installations, it provides the scale and capability often required on high-end residential and commercial projects. Despite the substantial glass weights involved, the operation remains remarkably smooth thanks to Schüco’s sophisticated hardware and automation options.
Alumil S630 PHOS
The Alumil S630 PHOS is one of the most technically impressive sliding doors currently available. Slim sightlines, substantial panel sizes and excellent engineering place it firmly in the premium category.
Internationally, Alumil is one of the largest aluminium systems companies in the world and its products are used on some of the most demanding projects globally. The S630 demonstrates exactly why the brand enjoys such a strong reputation.
Whilst Alumil remains less widely available in the UK than some competitors, the product itself deserves serious consideration by anyone looking at premium sliding doors.
Sunflex SVG20 and SVG30
Sunflex sliding doors have long been regarded as some of the most refined products available to UK homeowners.
Like many German manufacturers, Sunflex focuses heavily on engineering, operation and long-term ownership experience. The SVG20 and SVG30 both provide slim sightlines, excellent thermal performance and exceptional manufacturing quality.
Particularly impressive is the way these doors operate. The movement is smooth, precise and reassuringly solid, characteristics that often distinguish premium products from more mainstream alternatives.
For homeowners who appreciate German engineering and attention to detail, Sunflex remains one of the strongest options available.
Best Value Sliding Doors
We say time and again that there is no bad sliding door on the market. Well made and properly installed, even the more affordable brands will provide years of reliable service. Where products differ is in the finer details. Premium sliding doors often benefit from more sophisticated engineering, higher-grade components, larger size capabilities, more advanced hardware and greater design flexibility. They may also offer smoother operation, slimmer sightlines or specialist features not found on more affordable systems.
That does not make value-priced sliding doors inferior. For many homeowners, they provide everything required from a modern patio door at a more accessible price point.
It is also worth remembering that value is not the same as cheap. Prices vary considerably depending on the supplier, glass specification and installation requirements. A door that represents excellent value from one company may cost more than a supposedly premium product elsewhere.
The products below are the sliding doors we believe currently offer some of the best value for money in the UK market, combining good design, reliable performance and competitive pricing.
Exlabesa Sliding Doors
Exlabesa is steadily becoming one of the more interesting aluminium systems companies in the UK. Whilst the brand does not yet enjoy the same recognition as Cortizo, Smart Systems or AluK, its products are widely used in developments of flats and houses all over the UK. It is competitively priced and increasingly specified by fabricators looking for alternatives to the established names.
The Xlaslide is a good example. Designed as a contemporary sliding door with slim sightlines and a concealed outer frame option, it delivers much of the styling homeowners want from a modern patio door without moving into the significantly higher prices associated with some architectural systems.
What we particularly like about the Xlaslide is that it focuses on delivering the features most homeowners actually need. Security is excellent with PAS 24 accreditation and internal glazing beads. The weather performance figures are impressive, thermal performance is fully in line with current Building Regulations, and the maximum panel sizes are more than adequate for the majority of extensions, renovations and new-build projects. We’ve seen this door made and fitted many times and once complete it slides very smoothly and look attractive.
For homeowners looking for a contemporary sliding door that combines modern styling, solid specifications and sensible pricing, the Exlabesa Xlaslide deserves serious consideration. It may not carry the prestige of some premium brands, but as a value-focused sliding door it offers an excellent balance of performance, appearance and affordability.
Alunet Aluna Sliding Door
The Aluna Sliding Door is based on the well-established Greek Europa ESS47 platform and is positioned firmly towards the value end of the sliding door market. It offers many of the features homeowners now expect, including slim 25mm interlocks, large panel sizes, PAS 24 security, lift and slide functionality and a wide range of opening configurations.
The specifications on paper are reasonable, but in no way market leading. However the sash sizes, competitive U-Values, double or triple glazing and a choice of inline sliding or lift and slide operation make it suitable for a wide range of residential projects. It also benefits from being widely available through the Alunet network and is often competitively priced compared with some of the more premium systems featured elsewhere in this guide.
Where we believe the Aluna differs from the market leaders is in its overall refinement. This does not make it a bad product. We regularly say there are no genuinely bad sliding doors on the market today. For homeowners focused primarily on value for money, the Aluna remains a perfectly viable option. However, for those placing greater emphasis on engineering quality, hardware refinement, smooth operation and overall product feel, there are stronger alternatives elsewhere in the market.
Aluk BSC94 HI Sliding Doors
AluK has long been one of the trade’s favourite aluminium systems companies and for good reason. The products are well designed, widely available, competitively priced and backed by realistic and honest performance data. Unlike some brands that focus heavily on marketing, AluK has built its reputation through years of supplying reliable systems that fabricators and installers know well.
The BSC94 HI is a good example of this approach. It is not trying to be the slimmest sliding door on the market or the most architecturally ambitious. Instead, it focuses on providing a well-engineered, versatile and dependable sliding door suitable for the vast majority of residential projects. And it does that job brilliantly. Multiple opening configurations, slim 45mm sightlines, a broad choice of colours and finishes and the ability to accommodate large glass panels make it a practical solution for extensions, renovations and new build homes alike.
The overall design is sensible and thoroughly developed. Security, weather performance and thermal efficiency are all where you would expect them to be for a modern aluminium sliding door. AluK has also paid attention to long-term reliability, with details such as the anti-bi-metal thermal strip helping maintain smooth operation and structural stability over many years of use.
One of the biggest advantages of choosing an AluK sliding door is availability. The brand is manufactured by numerous fabricators throughout the UK, meaning homeowners can often obtain competitive quotations whilst still buying a proven and widely respected system. Shop around and you will often find AluK products represent excellent value for money. For homeowners seeking a dependable aluminium sliding door from an established and respected brand, you’ll get a great door.
Best Sliding Doors for Engineering and Design
Some sliding doors stand out not because they are the most expensive or have the slimmest sightlines, but because of the thought, engineering and innovation behind the product.
This category is for sliding doors where the design team has clearly focused on solving problems, improving performance and creating a better overall product. These are systems that glazing professionals often admire because of how they are engineered rather than simply how they look.
Solarlux Cero Sliding Doors
Few sliding doors have achieved the reputation of the Solarlux Cero.
Designed as a highly engineered minimalist system, Cero demonstrates what is possible when engineering, architecture and manufacturing quality are combined. The system accommodates exceptionally large glass panels whilst maintaining remarkably slim visible aluminium sections.
As expected, this level of sophistication comes at a premium price, but Cero remains one of the benchmark products within the architectural glazing sector.
What makes Cero particularly impressive is that the engineering is largely hidden from view. The visual simplicity disguises the complexity required to move and support such substantial glass weights.
Sunflex SF80
The Sunflex SF80 demonstrates that excellent engineering does not always require the most extreme minimalist design.
The system is engineered around usability, reliability and long-term performance whilst still delivering contemporary styling and slim sightlines. Every aspect of the product reflects the attention to detail for which German manufacturers are renowned.
The operation, hardware and overall user experience are particularly impressive. The SF80 feels substantial, refined and exceptionally well made.
For homeowners and architects who appreciate thoughtful engineering as much as aesthetics, the SF80 remains one of the most compelling sliding doors currently available. Read our Sunflex SF80 and SF60 review.
Reynaers Hi-Finity
The Reynaers Hi-Finity has been one of the most influential minimalist sliding doors of the past decade. The system helped establish many of the design principles now common throughout the premium sliding door market. Slim sightlines, concealed frames and large glass panels all combine to create a highly desirable architectural product.
Reynaers also benefits from extensive technical support, strong specification credentials and a global reputation for quality aluminium systems. Whilst newer competitors have entered the market, Hi-Finity remains a highly impressive piece of engineering. Read our Reynaers Hi-Finity review.
Minimalist Architectural Sliding Doors
Not all sliding doors are designed for typical residential extensions. Some products exist in an entirely different part of the market, specified by architects, developers and design-led homeowners where the primary objective is achieving the cleanest possible visual result.
These are the systems where frames disappear into walls, floors and ceilings. Glass panels can weigh several hundred kilograms. Structural calculations become critical. Installation is often more complex. Project values can be substantially higher than a conventional sliding door installation. These are the kinds of projects where often, the survey, manufacturing and installation are done by the same company.
Importantly, these products are not really competing with mainstream sliding doors such as the Glideline Aspect, Alumil M450, Origin Slider or Cortizo 4700. They are designed for a different type of project altogether.
LuxView Slide 54
The LuxView Slide 54 is again our choice for the best minimalist architectural sliding door.
What impresses us most is its ability to deliver the architectural appearance homeowners and architects want without some of the compromises often associated with ultra-minimal systems. The sightlines are exceptionally slim, the aesthetics are outstanding and the overall engineering is highly impressive.
LuxView Slide 54 has been designed specifically for projects where glass, views and architectural integration are the priorities. The system works particularly well in contemporary new builds, high-value renovations and bespoke residential developments.
For homeowners and architects seeking a truly architectural sliding door, LuxView 54 is currently our recommendation.
Cortizo Evolution and Glideline GS25 Frameless
The GS25 Frameless is one of the most distinctive products currently available.
Designed specifically for projects where visible aluminium must be reduced to an absolute minimum, the GS25 delivers a remarkably clean aesthetic whilst retaining the practical benefits of a modern sliding door system.
This is very much a specialist product aimed at high-end residential projects where architectural appearance takes priority over conventional buying considerations.
For homeowners seeking a genuinely minimalist appearance without entering the ultra-premium European market, the GS25 deserves serious consideration.
Ultraline Sliding Doors
What immediately stands out about this sliding door is the consistency of its sightlines. Not only is the central interlock an ultra-slim 20mm, but the system is also designed to show just 20mm at the sides, top and bottom. Integrated handles and concealed locking components help create a clean, symmetrical appearance that places the focus firmly on the glass rather than the frame.
The system is designed for contemporary architectural projects, offering flush floor levels with the track recessed into the floor for a seamless transition between inside and outside. Large panel sizes of up to 4.2 metres wide and 3.2 metres high allow substantial expanses of glass, whilst matching fixed glazing can be incorporated for a consistent appearance across an entire elevation. A choice of four carefully selected finishes, including marine-grade powder coated colours and anodised options, completes a highly design-led sliding door system.
Hyline Sliding Doors
Hyline occupies a similar position within the architectural sliding door sector.
The brand focuses heavily on minimal sightlines, concealed framing and very large glass panels. The result is a system capable of delivering some of the cleanest and most dramatic architectural glazing installations currently available.
Like many products in this category, Hyline is rarely selected because of price. It is chosen because the design brief demands a specific aesthetic and performance level that more mainstream products cannot always achieve.
For architect-led projects where the glazing forms a central part of the design, Hyline remains one of the strongest options available.
Steel Look Sliding Doors
Unlike bifold doors, French doors and windows, there is currently no true steel-look sliding door system specifically designed to replicate traditional steel windows and doors.
Most steel-look sliding doors achieve the appearance using glazing bars applied to slimline sliding door systems. As a result, the overall appearance often depends more on the bar design, sightlines and installation quality than the actual sliding door system itself.
For homeowners creating a steel-look property, it is usually better to choose an excellent sliding door first and then consider how glazing bars and other design details can help achieve the desired appearance.
Sunflex SVG20 and SVG30
The Sunflex SVG20 is currently our preferred best aluminium sliding patio doors for steel-look applications.
Its slim sightlines, excellent proportions and overall styling lend themselves particularly well to the addition of glazing bars. The result is a sliding door that complements steel-look windows, internal screens and heritage-inspired glazing remarkably well.
Like all Sunflex products, the engineering and manufacturing quality are excellent. The SVG20 also benefits from impressive thermal performance and smooth operation.
Glideline GS20
The GS20 is another sliding door that works particularly well in steel-look applications.
The slim interlock and clean aluminium profiles provide an excellent base for adding glazing bars without the door appearing visually heavy. It is particularly effective when used alongside steel-look windows and doors elsewhere within the property.
For homeowners looking to achieve a contemporary steel-inspired appearance, the GS20 offers a compelling combination of aesthetics and value.
Cortizo Cor Vision
The Cor Vision remains one of the most widely used slimline sliding doors in the UK and can also work effectively in steel-look schemes.
The slim central sightline and large glass areas provide a strong architectural appearance, whilst carefully designed glazing bars can help create a more industrial or heritage-inspired look.
Its popularity means homeowners can often view the product in numerous showrooms throughout the UK.
Schüco ASE 51 PD
For premium steel-look projects, the Schüco ASE 51 PD is another excellent option.
Its refined proportions and minimalist styling provide a strong foundation for design-led projects where steel-look detailing forms part of a wider architectural vision.
Whilst not specifically designed as a steel-look product, it can be highly effective when specified correctly.
When choosing a steel-look sliding door, we would encourage homeowners to focus less on finding a specific “steel-look system” and more on selecting the right sliding door for the project.
The steel-look appearance can usually be achieved successfully using glazing bars, profile choices and careful design detailing. The underlying quality of the sliding door itself remains far more important.
Best Known UK Sliding Door Brand
Some brands become successful because of engineering. Others because of innovation. Some become successful because homeowners recognise the name and can easily find a local supplier.
In the UK sliding door market, no brand has achieved wider consumer recognition than Origin.
Origin Sliding Doors
Origin has built one of the strongest dealer networks in the UK and remains one of the most recognisable names in the door and window sector.
The company’s success is built on several factors. Fast lead times, excellent colour choices, strong marketing, incredible dealer and product support and nationwide availability. All these and more helped establish Origin as a household name within the aluminium door market.
Origin also offers one of the broadest ranges of colours and personalisation options available.
In our view, Origin products are now dated and relatively expensive compared with some competing systems offering similar or better specifications. However, many homeowners are prepared to pay a premium for the reassurance of a well-known brand, extensive dealer network and strong customer support. Whilst Origin is not necessarily our recommendation for every project, it remains one of the most important and influential brands in the UK sliding door market.
Commercial and Heavy Use Sliding Doors
The demands placed on sliding doors in commercial environments can be significantly greater than those encountered in a typical home.
Public buildings, offices, retail premises, hospitality venues and educational facilities often require larger glass sizes, higher traffic levels, greater durability and more demanding specification requirements.
For these environments, engineering, robustness and technical capability become even more important.
Schüco Sliding Doors
Schüco remains one of the strongest names in commercial glazing and architectural aluminium systems.
The company’s sliding door systems are extensively specified throughout the UK and Europe on commercial, educational, retail and public-sector projects. Architects, specifiers and contractors continue to choose Schüco because of its proven performance, extensive testing, technical support and long-term reliability.
Another significant advantage is the breadth of the Schüco product range. The company offers solutions capable of meeting a wide variety of project requirements, from standard commercial applications through to highly specialised architectural glazing projects.
For demanding environments where performance and reliability matter most, Schüco remains our recommendation. And with nearly forty years in fenestration, Schüco sliding doors installed in the 1990’s are still functioning perfectly to this day in garage showrooms and other commercial installations.
Alumil S630 PHOS
The Alumil S630 PHOS is another sliding door that deserves serious consideration for commercial and large-scale projects.
The system combines substantial panel sizes, impressive engineering and excellent structural capability. Alumil’s experience supplying projects across some of the world’s most demanding environments is clearly reflected in the design of the product.
For architects, developers and commercial contractors looking beyond the more familiar names in the UK market, the S630 PHOS offers an impressive alternative.
Which Sliding Door Would We Choose?
If budget was no object and we wanted the finest premium sliding door available today, we would choose Skyglaze LuxView Sliding Doors.
For the best balance of styling, performance, availability and value for money, we would choose the Glideline Aspect.
If engineering and product design were our primary consideration, we would choose the Solarlux Cero.
For architect-led projects where minimalist design is the overriding priority, we would choose the LuxView Slide 54.
For steel-look styling, we would choose the Sunflex SVG20.
If we wanted the reassurance of a widely recognised UK brand with an extensive dealer network, we would choose Origin.
For commercial projects and demanding applications, we would choose Schüco.
There is no single best sliding door for every project.
The right choice depends on your budget, location, property type, design priorities and how the doors will be used. A product that is perfect for a contemporary architectural new build may not be the right solution for a family extension, and vice versa.
That is why we always recommend looking beyond sightlines and headline specifications. Engineering, installation quality, servicing, structural capability and long-term support are equally important.
If you are comparing sliding doors and would like an impartial opinion, get in touch. We can usually explain where a particular product sits in the market, who manufactures it, whether it is based on another system and what alternatives may be worth considering.
Our advice is free, impartial and independent.
What is the best sliding door in the UK?
There is no single best sliding door for every project. For most homeowners in 2026, our recommendation is the Glideline Aspect because it combines ultra-slim sightlines, strong specifications, excellent styling and competitive pricing. For premium projects, we would recommend Skyglaze LuxView Sliding Doors, whilst Solarlux Cero remains one of the best engineered sliding doors available. There are also brands in the steel look, designed to be more affordable and where the slimmest sightlines are not top priority.
What is better, sliding doors or bifold doors?
Neither is automatically better. Sliding doors generally provide larger glass areas, slimmer sightlines and uninterrupted views. Bifold doors create a larger opening when fully open. If your priority is maximising glass and views, sliding doors are usually the better option. If creating the widest possible opening is important, bifold doors may be the better choice. Read our article on the benefits only bifolds provide as some may surprise you.
What is the slimmest sliding door available?
Several sliding doors now offer exceptionally slim sightlines. The Glideline Aspect currently offers a 15mm interlock whilst remaining a practical residential product. Other ultra-slim options include LuxView Slide 54, Solarlux Cero, Schüco Panorama Design systems and various frameless sliding door products designed for architectural projects. Remember the slimmest door may not be suitable for your particular project or location and other factors such as wind loading, weather forces on the doors and other safety requirements, that a professional installer should discuss with you.
Are expensive lsiding doors worth the money?
Often, yes. Premium sliding doors typically offer better engineering, smoother operation, larger panel sizes, higher-quality hardware and more sophisticated design. However, many mid-market sliding doors now offer excellent performance and value for money. The best choice depends on your project requirements and budget. Our advice is always to concentrate the best of your budget on getting the best doors you can rather than windows. Doors always have greater demands placed on them.
What should you look for when buying sliding doors?
Most homeowners focus on sightlines, but other factors are equally important. Consider security testing, thermal performance, weather resistance, glass specification, structural capability, hardware quality and long-term support. The quality of the installation is often just as important as the sliding door itself.
Are sliding doors secure?
Modern aluminium sliding doors are extremely secure when correctly specified and installed. Many systems now achieve PAS 24 security accreditation and use multi-point locking systems, anti-lift devices and laminated security glass where required. Security depends as much on the quality of manufacture and installation as the system itself.
How much do sliding doors cost?
Prices vary significantly depending on size, configuration, glass specification and brand. A standard residential sliding door may cost several thousand pounds, whilst large architectural systems can cost substantially more. Installation requirements, structural works and glazing specifications can also have a major impact on overall project cost. But as a rough guide, a premium sliding door starts at around £1500m2. Mid-range sliding doors are less.
Which sliding doors are best for contemporary homes?
For contemporary residential projects, we particularly like the Glideline Aspect, LuxView Slide 54, Solarlux Cero, Schüco Panorama Design systems and Reynaers Hi-Finity and Hyline and Ultraline. All offer slim sightlines, large glass areas and styling that works exceptionally well in modern architecture.
Are sliding doors better than French Doors?
For larger openings, yes. Sliding doors allow much larger expanses of glass, provide better views and create a stronger connection between inside and outside spaces. French doors remain an excellent choice for smaller openings and traditional properties, but sliding doors are generally the preferred solution for modern extensions and contemporary homes.
